What is in this Guide?
The Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing for Schools Teachers Guide consists of three sections that you should review before beginning the program with your students. As you read, keep in mind your students’ general capabilities and needs, and then implement or annotate the features and suggestions that work best for your class.
- The first section prepares for you teaching this program and includes an introduction to the fundamentals and theory behind it. It also provides some useful suggestions for organizing and setting up your classroom.
- The second section helps you orient your students within the program and gives you suggestions for monitoring their student profiles and assessing their work.
- The final section presents a variety of skills enhancement activities that support the Mavis curriculum, keeping students challenged and learning. This section also includes extended Transcription Exercises and Dictation Exercises, with instruction for setting up business letters.
