Assessment Suggestions for Intermediate Level

  • Do assess willingness to practice on a regular basis and persistence in overcoming individual typing challenges.
  • Don’t grade all students in the class on a single set of criteria for speed and accuracy.
  • Do review progress charts in a student-teacher conference at the computer and help the student learn to interpret them.
  • Don’t allow a redundant routine to set in (for example, a student focusing mainly on games); give credit for the use of variety in lesson formats.
