Activity 15 - Student Writing

Mavis is a wonderful vehicle for “publishing” and sharing a student’s written work with the class. Either collect materials from your colleagues, or conduct your own writing contests. Publish the winners on the school’s network drive (if available) and encourage others to read and type these texts.

Search out a variety of topics and text lengths. Inspire your students’ creative efforts with:

• Short descriptive paragraphs
• Essays, 300 words or less
• Poetry
• Limericks
• Descriptive poetical imagery
• Short Stories
• Travelogues
