Assessment Suggestions for Beginning Level

• Do give credit for correct and appropriate use of the computer, that is, logging on and off, honest and ethical use of their own account, and not tampering with other account.
• Don’t emphasize speed and accuracy yet.
• Do assess posture at the keyboard and, after a couple of lessons, assess improvement in the students’ efforts to avoid looking at the keyboard while typing.
• Don’t confuse a beginning typist’s frustration with poor attitude.
