Key Shot is a third-party rendering system. CAD data is shared to Key Shot using the Live Linking scheme provide and extremely fast app to app data sharing. The four Key Shot tools are:
- Render All
- Save BIP
The Render All tool sends all data over to Key Shot
The Update option only sends data that is marked new or modified since the last Render All command.
BIP is the native file format for Key Shot.
Provide access to the settings and options for sharing data with Key Shot.
Transform Y as Up Direction
Swaps the Y and Z axis of data shared with Key Shot. This is enabled by default.

Key Shot will translate and center the shared data about the origin.
Snap to Ground
Key Shot will translate the shared data just above the origin.
Text, dimensions, curves are sent over to Key shot as thin surfaces.
Text, dimensions and curves will include a reflection attribute with the default material in Key Shot.
Link Part Faces
Faces of a single solid shared with Key Shot will have separate material definitions.

Resolution Drop Down
The Resolution option specifies a minimum facet resolution when sharing data to Key Shot. Any part below the specified resolution will be refracted when shared to Key Shot.
The Live Linking interface to Key Shot includes sharing part names and color definitions. Part names seen in Concept Explorer are preserved under the Scene tab in Key Short. When you apply a material within Key Shot, the material is associated with the model name. If you make geometry updates to a part within TurboCAD, materials assigned to the part in Key Short are preserved as long as you do not change the TurboCAD part name.
